Current Project: Mental Health & the Christian FaithFollowing on from my nonfiction articles, I am currently working on a project about mental health and the Christian faith. For Christians, our faith has to be central to our healing journey, but when certain teachings appear to rub against therapeutic concepts, this can be tricky. In my experience, there is a way to bridge the differences when we go deeper into the understanding of both the faith-based and therapeutic principles. This project aims to support the therapeutic healing journey by looking at how we can make Christ the centre of it all and apply to gospel to our therapy.
I am currently trying to gather some initial information to help identify further subjects to address in this project. Although the project is aimed mostly at Christians and their therapists, I am interested to get feedback from people of all walks of life. To find out more and participate in the questionnaire, please click the button below. |
Not a Christian? Your feedback is still wanted! Please see statement below.

This project has three main aims, which will form the basis for each book in the collection:
- To help Christians who may be struggling with mental health, in therapy or considering therapy, bridge the gap between some of the teachings of the gospel and therapeutic concepts.
- To help therapists, particularly non-Christian therapists, understand the faith of their Christian clients and how to bridge the gap between therapeutic concepts and the teachings of the gospel.
- To help Christians understand more about mental health, what the gospel says about mental health and how to safely minister to people with mental ill health.

Whether you are of another faith, not sure what to believe or an atheist - I want your feedback too!
Although this project is mainly aimed at Christians, the heart of this project is about treating one another with love and kindness. Christians believe in the teaching, "love thy neighbour," but our neighbours aren't just those sat beside us in church or who believe as we believe. Although we strive to become better people and believe in one day being perfect, right now we are far from it.
As we grow in our faith, this shapes how we see the world and how we interact with others; whether they believe the same as us or not. Hopefully, this change will be for the better, but when we make mistakes this can hurt other people. This project is largely aimed at helping Christians understand from the perspective of our faith what Jesus Christ says about mental health and how to treat others with love and kindness; but hearing your experiences can help me identify what subjects need to be discussed.
